1. Request: client fill out an application form. ECOCERT sends an estimate. The costs are calculated based upon the time due to do all the process, according the reality of each project. ECOCERT does not charge percentage of products sales or any kind of comercialization.

2. Estimate: an estimate is signed by the client; a contract and a commitment term (producer / firm commit to obey the different rules of organic agriculture – production – process – comercialization) are signed by the parties

3. Inspection Order: an inspectin order is emmited to the inspector. All inspectors have confidentiality terms signed with ECOCERT, regarding all information they may have access to (before, during and after inspection).

4.Inspection: After the inspection on site, the inspector write down a report and relate all the conformities and non-conformities.

4.1: Collection of samples: if necessairy, the inspector may collect a sample of product, soil, water, leaves or other, to be analyzed at previously registered laboratories.

4.2: The result of the analysis and the reports are seen by the technical commitee.

5.The person in charge of the certification review all documentation.

6. Certification Proposal: the person in charge of certification gives his approval or not to the certification, based on the material reviewed and the oficial rules of organic agriculture. The Certification Commitee, based on the recommendation of the person in charge, gives his final decision to the process.

7: A certificate of conformity is emmited and delivered to the client, which is able than to commercialize its products mentioning in the label: “Certified by ECOCERT F-32600” or “Certificado pela ECOCERT BRASIL”according to the market final destination.

- Correction measures may be requested to treat non-conformities.

The use of ECOCERT label in the packaging is not mandatory. A sample of the label should be shown to ECOCERT to approval before it hits the market.

The mention of the certify body is mandatory.

8. Appeals: According to legal procedures, the client or consumers who have doubts or do not accept the decision of certification may appeal to the Certification Commitee.
